Frankfurt, with over 1700 sunshine hours and mild winters, is one of Germany's warmest major cities, while Hamburg's cooler North Sea climate and around 40 more rainy days per year makes it noticeably wetter and cloudier. Especially in summer the temperature gap between the two cities regularly reaches 3-4°C.
